Privacy policy

Short version: we keep only what's needed to run accounts and discussions, we don't sell anything, and there are no ads or trackers.

Tools and downloads

The tools on ShadeBox run inside your browser. Pictures, text and files you use with them stay on your device and are never uploaded to us. Some tools remember your settings or work (for example the wheel's choices) in your browser's local storage, which only you can see.

Accounts

If you make an account, we store:

• your username and email address
• your password, but only as a salted, one-way hash, never the password itself
• if you use Continue with Google: your Google account ID and email address. We don't get your Google password, contacts or anything else.
• a login cookie (sb_session) so you stay logged in, for up to 30 days
• your posts in discussions

We use your email only to send the sign-up code and, if needed, messages about your account. We never send marketing emails and never sell or share your email.

Who helps run the site

• Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the account database.
• Resend sends the sign-up code emails.
• Google handles sign-in if you choose Continue with Google.

Cloudflare may keep short-term technical logs (like IP addresses) to protect the site from abuse.

Deleting your account

Email contact@shadebox.net from the address on your account and we'll delete your account and posts.
